On green building evaluation system: LEED 2012 in United States

The 4th version of LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), the green building evaluation system, will be issued and become effective in 2013. It serves building design and construction, interior design and construction, operation and maintenance of existing building, homes, neighborhood development. Presents the revision of the 4th version from the former version of 2009 from aspects of the applicable building stage and type, scoring and rating method, and evaluating index system, respectively. Compares the 4th version of LEED with other green building evaluation systems, BREEAM in UK and GB/T 50378 in China. Analyses the successes and insufficiencies of LEED and some technical problems to be solved.
